Slides are one of simple childrens play equipment that are actually safe to use as long as the children would follow the simple instructions of using it since it is usually a passive equipment with no actual moving parts to worry about and so, it is up to what the children do in order for themselves to be safe.
Since childrens play equipment like slides usually have ladders or stairs provided in order for the kids to reach the top before making their slide, it is important that they understand the proper way of climbing thru it. They must only take a single step at a time, and never jump just to reach the next step. Also, they should hold onto the provided handrails in order to keep their balance especially if they were climbing in wet since it is possible that they might slip and holding on the rails would allow them to quickly regain their composure.
And in making their slide from top to bottom, the proper way of doing it is to let the feet first while the back is lying on the actual slide. Having said so, one should never try going with the head first no matter what since that position is extremely dangerous.
Except if the slide was specifically designed for groups, one must not allow more than one child to slide on it at any given time. Since most of childrens play equipment such as slide is designed for a single child only then it is important that everybody would keep it that way.
